Have a Brave New Year for Living Well

by John Folk-Williams

Summoning up hope and resilience for living well in 2012 helps a lot more than the brief energy for a few resolutions. So my number one wish for you, for all of us dealing with depression, is to find a way to accept what comes, the good and the bad, and draw on it to heal from within.

I’d also like to thank you for all your support during the last year. Since the relaunching of Storied Mind in October, the number of you who visit has doubled. And the vast majority of you seem to find what you’re looking for and stick around.

Many of you tell your own stories and offer your hard-won insights. There are now more than 2500 comments, and they add incredible depth and richness to the site. I want to thank you for everything you’ve put into Storied Mind.

Drawing on your reactions and ideas, I’ll be adding new features in the coming weeks.

Starting in February, I’ll put out the newsletter weekly instead of twice a month. It will continue to offer new material not found on the blog, so I hope you’ll sign up, if you haven’t already done so.

There’s more to come, but I want first to check in with you about what you’d like to see in the coming year.

To do that, I’ll be posting simple polls during January. I hope you’ll take a moment to pick an item out of a choice of three or four in each one.

Thanks again, and here’s all my best to you for a good new year.

Wishing you a happy new year, too, John. Am looking forward to more frequent newsletters. I always enjoy your thoughtful writing and you have a knack for making us think! I’ve referred a few people to Storied Mind because I think there is so much great information and it’s also down-to-earth because you’re writing from your heart.
